Vision and Mission

Department of Aquatic Product Technology (THP) – Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University

Vision

To become an internationally recognized higher education institution in the field of tropical aquatic product technology, fostering entrepreneurship, and serving as a national trendsetter.

The vision of the Department of Aquatic Product Technology is aligned with the vision of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) and IPB University, namely:

“To be at the forefront in strengthening the dignity and reputation of the nation through globally recognized higher education in agriculture, marine sciences, and tropical biosciences.”

Mission

The Department of Aquatic Product Technology carries out the following missions:

1. To provide undergraduate education in tropical aquatic product technology that produces professionals who are independent, ethical, and entrepreneurial.

2. To develop science, technology, and arts in the exploration of raw materials and new products from tropical aquatic biological resources through innovative, applicable, and productive research.

3. To develop appropriate technologies in the field of aquatic products to support technological and economic development, thereby improving community welfare.

4. To strengthen mutually beneficial collaborations with stakeholders—researchers, lecturers, professional associations, practitioners, industries, and students—both nationally and internationally.

Goals

The Department of Aquatic Product Technology aims to:

1. Apply appropriate technologies in aquatic product processing as a real contribution to technological development, economic growth, and community welfare in Indonesia.

2. Produce competitive, responsible, and innovative human resources with strong skills to foster entrepreneurship in the aquatic product industry.

3. Generate innovative, applicable, and productive technologies to advance science and technology in the exploration of raw materials and new products from aquatic biological resources.

4. Establish and expand mutually beneficial collaborations with stakeholders at the national and international levels.
