The Department of Aquatic Products Technology started from the Division of Fisheries Technology, Department of Fisheries Production which is part of the Faculty of Fisheries which was established on September 1, 1963. This division continued to grow until it was designated as the Department of Utilization of Fishery Products in 1985, overseeing the Department of Fishery Products Technology as stated in Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 0110/0/1985.
