Bambang Riyanto, S.Pi., M.Si. is a lecturer at the Department of Aquatic Product Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University. His fields of expertise include diversification and development of fisheries products, processing technology for fisheries industry by-products, as well as standardization, quality management systems, and safety of fisheries products.
Bambang Riyanto’s research focus includes the development of intelligent smart packaging and smart labelling based on functional materials, such as aerogel, aerogel beads, foam, and polymer film. He is also actively involved in developing renewable materials based on marine biological resources, including crustaceans, molluscs, horseshoe crabs, and sand fleas (mole crabs), as well as recovery and valorization technologies for fisheries industry by-products into value-added products, such as fish oil, fish protein isolate, bio-calcium, hydroxyapatite, chitin-chitosan, fish oil biodiesel, and catalysts. In addition, his research includes the development of surimi and seafood analog products, as well as the implementation of standardization, quality management systems, food safety, traceability, and product recall in the fisheries product industry.
