is a Professor at the Department of Aquatic Product Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University. Her fields of expertise include biomolecular science of aquatic products and characterization of aquatic raw materials, with a focus on developing analytical methods to support the quality, authentication, and safety of aquatic products.


Prof. Asadatun Abdullah’s
research focus includes the application of biomolecular techniques for the identification and authentication of aquatic products, including PCR, DNA barcoding, and DNA recombination technology. She is also actively involved in developing methods for determining the quality of aquatic raw materials based on biomolecular and immunological approaches (immunoassays), as well as developing rapid and smart detection technologies to support the safety of aquatic raw materials. This research is directed toward strengthening identification systems, quality control, and safety assurance for aquatic products.
