Prof. Dr. Mala Nurilmala, S.Pi., M.Si. is a Professor at the Department of Aquatic Product Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University. Her field of expertise includes marine biochemistry and molecular approaches for aquatic products, with a focus on the application of molecular technology in the research and development of aquatic resources.

Prof. Mala Nurilmala’s research focus includes the application of molecular techniques for the identification and authentication of aquatic products, including the application of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), DNA barcoding, SDS-PAGE, 2D PAGE, and Western blot. In addition, she is actively exploring proteins from various aquatic resources, such as seahorses and sea cucumbers, for the development of food and non-food raw materials, including myoglobin, collagen, gelatin, albumin, and various bioactive peptides with potential applications in food, health, and biomaterials.
