Prof. Dr. Sugeng Heri Suseno, S.Pi., M.Si. is a Professor at the Department of Aquatic Product Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, IPB University. His field of expertise is fisheries product technology, with a focus on the development of value-added products, fish oil, and the utilization of aquatic resources for food and health.
Prof. Sugeng Heri Suseno’s research focus includes the development of extraction and purification technologies for fish oil, including the production of virgin fish oil that meets the International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS), as well as the quality evaluation of commercial fish oil for export and import purposes. He is also actively researching the characterization of omega-3 content in various types of fish, the inventory of deep-sea fish potential as a source of food and health, the development of chitosan-based natural preservatives for application in fisheries products, as well as innovations in traditional fisheries products to increase added value and the competitiveness of the fisheries industry.
