Bidang Penelitian
Prof. Uju memiliki fokus penelitian pada pengembangan bioproduk kelautan dan sistem bioindustri berkelanjutan, khususnya yang melibatkan rumput laut dan biomassa laut. Penelitiannya mengeksplorasi teknologi ekstraksi dan konversi hijau seperti ultrasonikasi, cairan ionik, dan pelarut eutektik dalam untuk menghasilkan hidrokoloid, biopolimer, pigmen alami, serta bioetanol. Beliau juga tertarik pada pengolahan tanpa limbah (zero-waste), desain biomaterial inovatif, dan pemanfaatan residu rumput laut menjadi produk bernilai tambah. Penelitiannya mengintegrasikan teknik bioproses, bioteknologi kelautan, dan bioekonomi sirkular untuk mendukung pengembangan ekonomi biru Indonesia serta industri kelautan berkelanjutan.
