Wekson and Kaisar Receive Awards from Kemenpora, Thanks to Diabetrin Cream

Edupost.ID, Bogor – The large number of diabetes sufferers who are difficult to cure has prompted two IPB students, Wekson Bagariang and Kaisar Akhir to create a diabetes wound healing cream or Diabetrin Cream. The cream, made from fishery waste, brought them into the 30 Best Innovations with a prize of IDR 10 million from the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora).

“We won the National Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition. Grateful and happy to be able to contribute to the development and utilization of marine resources (squid and fish),” said team member, Kaisar Akhir, Department of Marine Science and Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences to Edupost.ID, (20/1).

Kaisar added that the cream is one of the efforts to improve the health and welfare of the community, especially diabetic wound sufferers. The benefits of using diabetri cream are to accelerate the healing of diabetic wounds.
